“THE WAVES OF LIFE”

Recently, I went on a trip to Mumbai for four days. One night, I visited Juhu Beach, sat down, and observed the waves, as it is something that I find quite calming.

While watching the waves, a few thoughts struck me:

Waves keep flowing—sometimes they come far, sometimes they don't, but they never stop. To me, this mirrors life: there are down days, and there are good days, but life goes on regardless.

Another thing that struck me was that each wave has its own sound, if you have the ear for it. Similarly, every person has their own unique identity, and we should never view everyone through the same lens. Every person has their own context.

Waves can also act like people or places. Just as we seek out certain places or people to calm ourselves, waves have a way of decluttering our minds, no matter how much is going on in our heads.

This idea is clearly captured by John Tyndall when he says:
"Life is a wave, which in no two consecutive moments of its existence is composed of the same particles."

Waves are like feelings—we can't stop them from coming, but we can choose which ones to surf.

However, it's not necessary to be near a beach or the sea, because waves exist in your perspective.

Therefore, as James Gates Percival beautifully puts it:
"The world is full of poetry. The air is living with its spirit; the waves dance to the music of its melodies, and sparkle in its brightness."

  4. You might see someone who has everything, but you might not know how much or how long it took for them to get to where they are.I think you can add more things like the way to see things fearlessly instead of calmness.

  5. I wholeheartedly believe that waves are akin to our feelings and experiences in life. We must learn which waves to ride and how to navigate them. After all, these waves will continue to come our way, so it is essential to develop the skill to surf through them.
